Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata ahupae - Administrator to join the Te Kura Mātai Hinengaro - School of Psychology on a permanent, full-time contract. As a Mata ahupae - Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the administrative functions in the School and contribute to the smooth operating of our School office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and timely administrative support across a wide range of School related activities.
  • Provide administrative support for academic courses and programmes, including developing and maintaining efficient systems and processes for administrative tasks within the programme.

As an administrator, you will be a dedicated and customer-focused individual, driven by the desire to provide exceptional administrative support. You'll thrive on the frontline, armed with excellent people skills, and an eye for detail.

As a self-starter with a talent for making connections, you'll be just as comfortable flying solo as you are collaborating with our team. Your proactive approach to time management and planning will be essential for meeting deadlines and upholding service excellence for School staff and students.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as an administrator in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Proven excellence in customer service.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience in a range of computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Proven ability to use initiative, problem solve and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines in a demanding environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse community, including academic staff, students, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
